Dimensions Training Solutions awarded ESF contract supporting young people in D2N2

Dimensions Training Solutions (DTS) have been awarded an ESF funded contract by the Department for Work and Pensions to deliver a programme of support for young people in Derby city, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (not Nottingham city).

Your Time is a programme specially developed to support young people who are between 15 and 24 and are not in education, employment or training (NEET) or are at risk of becoming NEET.

The programme focuses on helping young people progress with their lives by giving them the skills needed to get into a job, an apprenticeship or return to full time education.

The project will support over 1900 young people aged 15-24 who are at risk of NEET or NEET, until July 2021 in the D2N1 area (Derby city, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire).  Dimensions Training Solutions are currently working with different providers across the area offering varied programmes and opportunities for personal development, the opportunity to gain an accredited qualification and life skills support, as well as help with job search, CV writing and preparation for interviews.

There are currently 7 providers delivering a comprehensive mix of regulated and non-regulated delivery across the area ranging from functional skills, retail, textiles, warehousing, building and construction, floor tiling and customer service.

Chameleon School of Construction
CT Skills
Derby Business College
Key Training & Learning (KTL Ltd) (or NEET specific webpage)
The Derbyshire Network
Workpays (or self-referral NEETs form)
The Zink Project

Referral to any of the above providers can be made directly to the provider via an agency or the young person themselves.

Once a referral has been received the young person will visit the provider and their needs assessed in order to offer specialist information, advice and guidance.  This will ensure they will then commence on the most suitable education and training opportunity and receive the necessary support to achieve a positive result, for example progression into an apprenticeship, traineeship, enrolment onto a college course or employment.
