D2N2 People and Skills Policy Update event POSTPONED

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED.  SIGN UP TO RECEIVE THE D2N2 TA BULLETIN TO RECEIVE NEWS OF THE RESCHEDULED DATE - email sandra.casey@d2n2lep.org to be added (put TA bulletin in the subject line).

The D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) invites skills, education, employment and inclusion partners to attend the first in a series of regular policy conversations with the D2N2 LEP.

These sessions build on the positive feedback received from our people and skills-specific consultation on the development of Vision 2030; the D2N2 Strategic Economic Plan.

Since publication of Vision 2030 a root and branch restructure of D2N2 combined with rapid progression on the development of Local Industrial Strategy has paved the way for a more focussed approach to People and Skills priorities.  This event is the first of a new model for a regular strategic dialogue between D2N2 LEP and our local People and Skills partners.  Each event will be an opportunity to discuss:

  • the evolving role and responsibilities of LEPs;
  • local and national economic policy and priorities;
  • funding streams and investments;
  • opportunities to improve local outcomes through working collaboratively.

At this first event we will focus on 4 core areas:

  1. Local Industrial Strategy for D2N2 – summary and implications for people and skills.
  2. D2N2 Skills Advisory Panel – activities and role in addressing skills mismatch and labour market failures
  3. Apprenticeships – changes, trends and role in meeting current and future skills needs
  4. European-funding – current landscape for ESIF activity and plans for national reserve and beyond

Each event will also include time for network and invite an input on themes and priorities for future discussion.
