The Building Better Opporunities programmes have been delivering across the D2N2 area for 3 years and have now released their findings from their third-year evaluation. Once again there is an increase in the participants on each strand and all have secured an extension of the programme until 2022.
The key highlight in all reports is the number of people that are approaching the programme with mental health or at least one long term health condition.
The focus for the strands was to try and attract more people to the programme who are economically inactive and who were looking to exit into education or training, job search or employment.
BBO programmes have used their evaluations to highlight “what works” for the participants. All projects have increased the number of participants benefitting from the programme and that the needs of participants are often complex.
